The greatest benefit of outpatient surgery is that you get to return home the same day a surgical procedure is performed. This results in reduced stress and quicker recovery times because most people prefer to be in the comfort of their own home, rather than in the hospital while recuperating.

Because of these added benefits, St. Joseph's Hospital has made many minor and intermediate procedures available through our Outpatient Care Department. This includes urologic, gynecologic, ophthalmologic and ENT (ear, nose and throat) procedures, as well as many minimally invasive procedures.

In fact, St. Joseph's is one of the only hospitals in the metro-east to offer balloon kyphoplasty, a minimally invasive treatment for repairing spinal and compression fractures.

Outpatient Surgical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm for scheduled procedures and 24-hour coverage for medical emergencies.
