Hearing loss can occur at any age and at any time for a variety of reasons. Some hearing losses can be medically treated and it is important to seek qualified help as soon as possible to determine the cause of the problem.

St. Joseph’s Hospital has experienced ASHA certified audiologists on staff to help with all your hearing healthcare needs.

Hearing Tests

A diagnostic hearing test or audiogram pinpoints the area of the ear causing the hearing problem and also identifies the severity of the hearing loss. The test takes about an hour to complete. Typically these results are sent to your physician for review. Most insurances including Medicare will pay for a diagnostic hearing test with a referral from your primary care physician.

St. Joseph’s Hospital offers hearing testing for all age groups, including infants.

Hearing Aid Consultation

There are a multitude of different hearing aids on the market and it can be confusing to determine which hearing aid is right for you. If you are thinking of purchasing a hearing aid, our staff of experienced audiologists can help explain the different types of hearing aids and help point you in the right direction.

Our office prides itself on excellent customer service. We offer hearing aids in every price range and a quick turn around on repairs.

Technology & Hearing Aids

Apps are available for most wireless hearing aids which serve as a remote control allowing the user to change the volume and program from their smart phone.

Smart phone compatible hearing aids are also available which allow geotagging and include GPS locators so you can “find” your hearing aids.

Going green with rechargeable batteries also provides convenience for individuals with dexterity problems.

Hearing aids can talk to each other so you only have to change the settings on the right or left device.
